Frankly there is a bill that's intended to move the time that bars must close to 4 a.m., but only for certain Counties or Cities, I really don't know why the State can't regulate things across the board. Part of the thinking is the drinkers won't all be leaving the bar at the same time, but I have a feeling they'll just be moving it from 2 a.m. to 4 a.m., and many of them will be drunker than they were at 2 a.m.
Many years ago I was dropped off in Atlantic City to spend a day at the Casinos when we were working in Philly, and others were spending the day in N.Y. I couldn't believe it when I found they weren't opening until 10 a.m. and I had hours to kill. Frankly assuring gamblers get some sleep isn't a bad idea, but as someone who previously only gambled in Nevada, I couldn't imagine casinos ever closing. I really believe one of the reason's that Nevada Casino's are more successful is that they make a big splash from the street, in Atlantic City they simply didn't have that open feeling and I understand that many of them have closed.
