Re: Wheelhorse #4368
Grasshopper, I think that stunt J&J pulled, by enlisting the Trojan Horse hedge fund, was brilliant. On the other hand, it was also extremely risky, because it signaled to the entire industry that J&J WAS going to sell its Lifescan property, the still dominant #1 in a world-wide market growing by 15-50% per year (depending on world regional measures), come hell or high water.

Personally, and that whiner zeynoc and the TAUG thugs aside and other bashers and libelers aside, I am more interested in the upcoming effect GenPrecis is going to have on this proposed sale of Lifescan. Imagine for a moment, Lifescan and the others of the Big 3 have set the market for test strips at $1.00 per, but soon there will be an American product developed for the American (and Canadian) markets available at artificially induced Medicare prices (brought to us by the same people who are responsible for that sterling Obamacare) in the American market that is still controlled by a bunch of slipping "me-toos."

If KB pulls off GenPrecis the worldwide market is going to explode. Medicare is paying $8.21 for a 50 count box of test strips, the patient is paying another $2.05 (deductible). Who can deliver a product so much better than... well everything out there and on the drawing boards, for the Medicare market crushing rate of $.21 per test strip?

More about this later.
