Hong Kong jump four spots to number two in Netflix’s internet speed index rankings in February.
iCable enjoyed the biggest speed increase of any internet service provider in February, with a gain of 0.58 Megabits per second (Mbps), bringing its average monthly speed up to 3.92 Mbps, according to Netflix’s research.
Hong Kong climbed from sixth place in January to claim the second fastest internet speeds in February (4.05 Mbps average) behind only Switzerland (4.12 Mbps), which has held the top spot for more than a year.
In February, Romania came third (4.04 Mbps), followed by the Netherlands (4.02 Mbps), Singapore (4.01 Mbps), Iceland (3.99 Mbps) and Sweden (3.86 Mbps).
The Netflix ISP Speed Index is a measure of primetime Netflix performance on a particular ISP and not a measure of overall performance for other services or data that travels across the specific ISP network.
Faster Netflix performance generally means better picture quality, quicker start times and fewer interruptions.
