Elephants don't forget, and neither do we.
That business about elephants and p53 was the subject of a big story on All Things Considered a year or so ago, when they closed down the Ringling/Barnum circus and sent the elephants away. For our purposes I think the elephants pretty much proved the concept of the p53. At this point, since we already know of a drug that activates p53 (
) I'm not sure what other info might be gleaned from elephant studies, but I'd think someone is continuing to do that work.
