The original score is still among the most haunting of any movie score.
I bought a cassette tape of that score....remember those?....before I drove out to Seattle to take a job in 1980.
Listening to that as I crossed over the Mississippi into the treeless landscape of SD was..........moving. Ditto for the rest of I-90 across MT, N. ID and from Spokane on across WA.
