Gjiknuri: Shkodra did not overwhelm HPPs, but rainfall

During the last two days from Shkodra there has been a repeated warning by Mayor Voltana Ademi for possible flooding in many areas, the 'HPPs' have become the HPPs, from where the water discharges started.
While Obot village is the first to "sail" under water, the danger is adequate, but KESH, Prefect of Shkodra and even Energy Minister Damian Gjiknuri have maintained the same line, linking the floods with dense rainfall and not with discharges from HPPs.
"The situation with the floods in Sub-Shkodra not from the HPP but from the rainfall. We have a protocol and regulation of dams that is implemented with precision. We have made the damages to the inhabitants for the past floods, even though I did not agree with what was imposed at the time after you were charged with KESH, "Gjiknuri said during the inspection of Vaja e Dejës.
Gjiknuri even expressed the lack of conformity with the bill of past floods handed over to KESH, but assured the residents that despite the HPP ports being opened, they are downloading controlled amounts of water.
"Downloads are controlled at 1400 meters / cubic in seconds. They are compulsory as we are faced with numerous streams that have cascades from rainfall and melting snow. Fierza is at 295 meters quota, maximum 296 meters allowed. Therefore, there will be downloads, but without risk of massive flooding as in 2010-2011, "said the Minister of Energy.
