The CEO Michael Lebby is a world renowned leader in this field and his right hand man in the development of a device is Fred Leonberger (credited with inventing today’s technology). They receive guidance from Joe Miller who is credited with saving Corning (producer of the majority of the worlds Fiber Optics). Some are hanging around to short this as it moves up and down, logically speaking in a period like this shorts will act like a longs to let it run up so they could short it back down. IMO they are playing with fire, the industry has a Huge problem and Lightwave has a very logical solution. There is ton of money chasing a solution.
[/b]Quick Lesson
14 Years ago the Goetzs created a Polymer (Plastic) that can control Light using electricity, they had great success but the fact that they worked for years in a nonsterile environment produced inconsistent batches. Fred Sr. had retired and has since passed (Mom is still alive but no longer in the game), Jr. (who graduated number 1 in his class from the U of D in physics) carried on for a short time but suffered an unfortunate accident. His best friend Andrew remained with the company sat on the board but was not a Visionary Physicist like the Goetz's. Ok so when Fred went down the founder of Dupont Photonics and former CFO of Invista stepped up, Chief of the Advanced Processing Technologies Division at the NSA and a Senior VP of Dupont photonics got in the game. Because the exact recipe was not known, they along with an entire group of Dupont cats worked in the lab and recreated it,The Executive VP of Corning vetted the technology then came on the board. He saw through the issues with having academia test the material and changed up the game to switch Lightwave to a device company (instead of materials only) which took about 3-5 years (I’ve lost track) Oh they brought in Pharmaceutical Chemists to purify the material, Meanwhile we had someone that held Senior positions at Terradyne and Sanmina Operating the company and The Admiral that led a 3 Carrier Group (100 vessels to the Middle East the day after 9/11) running, combining and focusing the company. OK last year we had an individual with over 450 Patents in the Photonics field (that just wrapped up a Multi Million dollar study of the industry) take over as the CEO. I wonder how many patents they filed this year?
Here is My one cut and paste
“Michael has been involved in photonics for his whole career which began with research for the UK Government R&D labs in 1977, and continued at AT&T Bell Labs in 1984. At that time, Michael’s activities included researching novel optoelectronic devices in III-V compound semiconductors. Michael then went to Motorola’s Corporate R&D labs in 1989 and drove the VCSEL based technology platform to product and high volume manufacturing. He continued his fiber optics roles at AMP/TE Connectivity, and then helped initiate Intel’s silicon photonics work in 1999. In 2001, he founded his own company Ignis Optics to develop OC-48/192 transceivers and subsequently sold the company to Bookham (now Oclaro). Michael then led OIDA (Optoelectronics Industry Development Association) in Washington DC to campaign on behalf of the photonics industry. At OIDA Michael coined the term ‘green photonics’ and established this as discipline in the industry. Michael also spoke on Capitol Hill representing the optoelectronics industry. Since 2010, Michael has been focusing on bringing PIC (Photonic Integrated Circuit) based technologies to market in various roles that include Solar, LED lighting, and Integrated Photonics for fiber communications. Michael is pursuing high speed polymer based integrated photonics as part of a polymer PIC platform at Lightwave Logic Inc.
With over 450 issued international patents (derived from over 200 issued USPTO patents) in the photonics field over the past 30 years, Michael has been cited by the USPTO to be in the most prolific 75 inventors in the country from 1988-1997. Michael is a Fellow member of IEEE and OSA, and has dedicated his career to moving photonics into mainstream opportunities. Michael has given numerous invited and keynote talks, speeches, panel discussions, and interviews.”
Somehow we are supposed to believe that these guys do not know what they are doing, Quite Laughable”
Been a long road, What I find very interesting and reassuring is that every time someone joins they are better than or compliment the accomplishments of the last.
Lebby Chairing a Conference next month across the pond and I’d guess the SHM mid-March, always an eye opener, I will see many of you there.
Yes Walter they have nothing other than rhetoric driving this, no experience behind the science, proly a good time to short it.
That is sarcasm guys.
If it makes sense it is probably true.
Xster Shares for Dr. X, LOL
I shouldn't defend this, after all I do need a period of cheap shares.
