Agreed. Hemp and hemp derived products will not be

They know they can't patent broad spectrum cannabis products, even if concentrated, because the plant itself cannot be patented. They knew that once these awesome broad spectrum CBD concentrates are widely available, along with solid clinical research to verify the huge health benefits (and a great deal already is), the money would pour in like water over Niagara Falls.
They know once people are aware, and have seen the benefits of the broad spectrum CBD products first hand, then more expensive patented versions would have to be far superior in clinical tests to be marketable to the extent that the R & D costs would prove worthwhile. Also, with so many hands on premium CBD concentrates, there is a much greater chance that some other small bio-techs could beat them to it.
The only way to slow their potential competition, in both clinical research and nation wide and even global public sales, is to discourage production and distribution of high quality CBD through DEA & ATF bullying. They have come up with some other lame "reasons" to try and justify it, but they're just blowing smoke.
Have no doubt, the true reason is that they are big pharma puppets. They get more funding from them than they ever will from the government, so who do you think they really work for? Regardless, they can't prove the hemp to be toxic in any way, so it'll get resolved very soon.
The pressure from the rapidly growing (and LEGAL) hemp industry will shine bright light on the injustice of what they are attempting to do. It'll prove to be too much of an embarrassment to those who are exposed, and the courts, lacking any clinical evidence justifying hemp as a drug, will have no choice but to slap them down.
