Like you I too am on fixed income so I can relate to much of what you are saying. One suggestion I would pass on to those who can put some shares in a ROTH IRA. You won't get a tax deduction now for doing it but down the road selling shares that have generated enormous profit will make you very happy to have established a ROTH. Go IPIX!!!
