This person can pursue partnerships with distracted driving non-profit organizations and awareness groups here in the United States. Our competitors have done this. Other companies are taking part in Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April. We did nothing last year, haven’t heard about this year yet. A Public Relations person could coordinate our inclusion in this event.
In Canada, March is Auto Dealers Against Distracted Driving Month. Cogosense is a Canadian company and Hexagon contracts with auto dealerships. A public relations person could have pursued Hexagons inclusion in this event as well.
The Public Relations person can act as an intermediary between Fly Communications and Hexagon, removing some of this responsibility from Steve Berman so he can direct his attention to what he does best; sales and marketing.
Other areas a Public Relations person could play a role is updating and improving the web-sites, submitting pertinent distracted driving information to twitter and Facebook, pursue sponsorship and partners, and writing of press releases.
There are so many areas a Public Relations person can contribute to fill voids that exist in the current business structure. This person will be invaluable as Hexagon expands into a true holding company. No sense putting off until later what you can make use of now.
Just my opinion.
