by Fighting Against FISA Memo Release

Ben Stein said the mainstream media "disgraced itself" by fighting against the release of a controversial memo alleging government surveillance abuses.
The memo was declassified by the White House Friday and the full contents released a short time later by Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee.
"The media is supposed to be pushing, pushing, pushing to have all the news put out there. They've been fighting, fighting, fighting against this FISA memo news to be put out," Stein said on "Cavuto Live," arguing this is more evidence that the media is a "captive of the Democrat Party."
He said Democrats have been trying to hide the truth about the memo, which asserts that a high-ranking law enforcement official stated in closed-door testimony that without the anti-Trump dossier, the FBI would not have been able to secure surveillance warrants on at least one member of the Trump campaign.
The memo also alleges the FBI and Justice Department, in their application to the FISA court, used media reporting to lend credibility to the dossier, which they failed to disclose was a political opposition document funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
