In my experience of working in New York for 40 years, salaried New Yorkers in the investing class will be found on Fridays at 5:30 either 1) still at work or 2) on their commute back to the suburbs or 3) at bars or 4) on their way to their weekend dachas. Sure, more people work from home these days, but no critical mass of them will likely be found in front of their tv's then, looking to research investment ideas.
It's a crummy time for a P.R. however you spin it, it's when, traditionally, bad political or economic news goes to die.
