Senator Bill Nelson (Democratic Senator in Florida
Post# of 51479
As I posted earlier in the day, I forwarded this tweet to Dem. Sen. Bill Nelson:
My Tweet to Sen. Bill Nelson here in Florida:
I find it repulsive that you have voted to support illegal immigrants issues over defending the rights of Americans. We desperately need to control illegal immigrants from entering our country and supporting them through spending on education, medical, providing housing, clothing and food. You need to be replaced by someone willing to step up and back our own populace. I promise that I will do everything in my power to see you are never again elected to a government office!
I am proud to say that my Sen. Marco Rubio voted to support Americans rights over those of illegal immigrants.
And here is Nelson's reply to me:
Thank you for contacting our office.
I’ve always believed that every member of Congress has a responsibility to put aside their partisan political differences in favor of finding common-sense solutions. But, unfortunately, right now we have too many people in Washington who refuse to compromise on anything.
This type of rigid political ideology is no way to govern a country. And I’m going to continue to do everything I can to help get our government back up and running.
During this period of disruption, we may be unable to immediately respond to many of the messages and requests submitted through our website.
If you have a situation that is urgent, please email: urgent@billnelson.senate.gov and we’ll do our best to get back to you as quick as we can.
- Bill
My reply was just a little terse to say the least. I explained that I considered he, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Shumer to be the most partisan politicians in Washington. I explained that I thought our President was displaying common-sense solutions to America's problems whereas he and his constituents were displaying none!
I apologize as I wanted to vent my frustrations in reference to WHY our Government is now shut down and whom I blame.
