68 years of age at the time, was Ike.
I guess it's no surprise that the Supreme Allied Commandeer in the European Theater, WWII, and the Commander of the Normandy Invasion, could speak off the cuff, sans teleprompter.
Painful to see how badly we've regressed. I mean it's not as though there were more HS and college grads back in the day. Just higher standards and a greater sense of, recognition of, decency and competency, I guess.
So sad. Particularly after today's latest POTUS embarrassments.
