Here is an example of what effects a paid promotion can have on a stock, NTEK specifically. There have been 17 over the years....
Look at the data and use your own common sense and judgement as to what effect it can have.

My opinion is mixed results......according to the trend the stock will shoot up and then come down in the short term.
As to the theory some have that this promotion is brought on by the company ?
The trend from above does not make that a viable theory. The effect is short term.
From a business standpoint, with the implied catalysts coming, the theory makes no sense IMO.
The company put out a statement that they are working on the problem. Allow them the time to do just that.
