I have a problem with that last statement. not every broker wants to trade a particular security due to risk.
if my broker refuses then I'll have to find another who will. our regulations are stricter up here because of the way our banking system is set up etc.
start engine makes it available but if the broker refuses then it's not avail.
also broker has to be willing. my broker stopped trading a few stocks I was in. they kept telling me they weren't DTC eligible anymore just like that. very frustrating. had to transfer out my holdings.
