Do you suppose anyone was shorting Dupont when Teflon was surfaced?
Do you suppose anyone was shorting Gore when Gortex was surfaced? (No Gore is not a publicly traded company.
I guess the closest comparison to Lightwave's product would be some of the technologies that have come out of Bell Labs. Specifically I'm thinking of the transistor which replaced the vacuum tube, do you think some were short then? I guess there were some that bet against it.
Or how about the telegraph vs. the telephone
Lightwave has a patented plastic that can be applied to Silicon and when struck with the Electrons traveling in today's devices Embeds 1's and 0's in Light (lightwaves) and send that message down a waveguide then into a fiber optic cable in a Single Mode form (which is smaller, faster and travels farther than multi mode) and at the other end the Lightwave's are converted back to electrical signals. This application is being designed for a single Huge Problem preventing Data centers from moving to the next level. Honestly this is just the beginning, in the end it will remain as light, but for now, let's just look at what nylon can be used for, um, woman's stockings.
