I don't completely disagree with you about the weather, but when I watched the Rose Bowl the other day, it sure seemed like people there can invest without worrying too much about sub-freezing weather.
It's depressing to be on the way to work in this cold, I'm looking at single digits, once there it's heated, though. Overall, the early darkness and extreme cold are depressing, no doubt.
