Did you miss the 1.6M shares that traded in the three days after the CUSIP change? We could have had an entire 1% of the outstanding shares nakedly shorted! You know...if all that volume was due to shorts sales....and none of the legal shorts covered.
For me the CUSIP change proved there was less than 1M naked shorts out there. I have no doubt there are naked shorting shenanigans going on within the T+3 window, but that, while damaging, is limited to the volume of the surround few days. All of these numbers pale in comparison to the aggregate selling pressure brought on in 2015/2016/2017 by Aspire/Aruda (well over 10 million shares combined).
