You could just as easily said that QDOG is a more expensive barrier film for quantum dots that otherwise would deteriorate quickly. The simple, less expensive solution is a quantum dot that is heat, oxidation and environmentally resistant, and that either needs no barrier film, or less of one. Quantum Materials Corp makes such a QD, and you can read about it in their PRs on the qmcdots.com website. QMC also makes Blue QD and has successfully completed a 1000 hour QD LED test without degradation. Of course, most of this news is only in the last six months and without a major contract today, you might choose to ignore QMC, but really, for a market research company that claims insight on future trends to discount QMC's prospects might not be prescient on your part
