Well polymers are around since last 20 years and they never made into our industry from ANobel to DuPont or IBM

Reliability and results reproducibility at precision that are required in optics have been proven to be a huge challenges despite some single good results. However if we can short life of components to less than 5 years so out of Telco standard the conversation might become different

Well I sincerely hope the polymers Lightwave engineered and with the knowledge of Michael Lebby, those huge challenges has taken a turn. They worked very hard to reproduce exactly the same materials given them 99.9% accuracy on performance. Lightwave is very close showing what is possible. 2017 should be the year we get that confirmation. Thanks for your take on it. Steve

Wish the same so: we have a new technology available. It's a complex problem if you have never dealt with you know what it takes. Not easy but not impossible. Hope they will be able to solve skepticism (from previous failure) and technical/product challenges ! Let's see what's coming in 2017
