Not entirely unexpected. The formulation to store Brilacidin at room temp was completed about two years ago if I recall correctly. Dehydration is the next logical step. Once you have that just package to taste.
I don't think the shipping costs are the big win on this design. Even if it was liquid, with what a patented drug charges per dose, the shipping cost is a rounding error in the equation. The real benefit is that it can be administered at home and dosed at an optimal frequency.
Now, if it finds its way onto store shelves for use with canker sores down the line this sort of efficiency will pay big dividends.
