Neste Estonia received the annual Traffic Safety Award 2017 yesterday in Tartu, Estonia. The prize was awarded by the Estonian Road Administration Maanteeamet and it recognizes outstanding companies, teachers, events, partners, and local authorities in the field of safety in Estonia. Neste won the prize as the most socially responsible company.
"Neste Estonia won this award for its versatile and long-standing contribution to road safety. They always do a bit more than is expected: every employee has to undergo in-service training, understand safety requirements and also talk about safety with their customers," says Leading Preventive Expert Kerli Tallo at the Estonian Road Administration Maanteeamet.
"Improving safety and operational excellence are key areas of our strategy and the cornerstone of our daily work: everyone should return home healthy after a safe working day. We are very proud of the work Neste Estonia has done for developing their operations and safety practices and honoured to receive this recognition. Neste's safety of transportation is guaranteed in cooperation with partners
Transportation of raw materials and chemicals that Neste uses in the refining, as well as the transportation of its refined products, is handled by partners. Transport-related risks are managed by ensuring that transport fleet is in appropriate condition, and that both Neste's own and its partners' employees know how to act safely in all situations and at all times. Neste has set safety targets for transportation partners and monitor their progress regularly. In addition, all safety deviations are always investigated.
