The thing about flu shots is that, despite what many articles state, it is NOT a killed virus. It is an "attenuated" (weakened) virus. And, if they fail to manufacture it properly, you get a big jolt of live, active virus injected directly into you. I know someone who got a flu shot and within hours was grossly ill. Guess what? That batch of vaccine was NOT attenuated.
I'll take my chances, especially since this year's vaccine is almost useless.
What makes me laugh is the articles that talk about how the vaccine has very little efficacy this year, yet they always end with "But Dr. So-and-So says every adult should still get the flu shot." Yep, can't have the drug companies take a financial loss on it, can we?
