$MVTG produced a working 2 wheel scooter that runs on a 300 watt formate fueled, MRFC (Mixed reactant fuel cell) in 2015 as a proof of concept demo that an 80% lower cost to manufacture than Ballard Power fuel cells, BLDP PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cells that use hydrogen fuel cell is practical and ready for engineering prototype and field trial stages. The fuel is non flammable, liquid at room temp, and the fuel cell operates near ambient temps.
It is also does not need platinum one of the major costs of hydrogen fuel cells.
The MVTG sister technology uses solar power or wind power to convert CO2, the green house gas responsible for climate change, into formates that can be used to power the MVTG fuel cells. Formic acid has an existing 1 billion dollar market, not including the formates market.
BLDP is up 500% this year and yet MVTG has the future fuel cell technology.
