That's far from the case for many cannabis based stocks which are concentrating on U.S. sales, in fact, that's all they're working on. We are working on products that can be marketed around the world, and we're doing it in a manner that may permit them to be sold both over the counter, and by prescription.
Speaking of over the counter products, if you were producing a new cosmetic cream that utilized chemicals known to be safe to use on the skin, but in different proportions, I don't believe that any regulations would prevent you from trying it on people to see how they reacted to it. That said, I wonder if OWCP feels the same about what's in it's psoriasis cream, and in fact has tried it, perhaps in a variety of formulations, on people who had psoriasis. I certainly wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, but it's not something they can say if they want to be respected as a drug producer, not a cosmetic maker.
In short, I believe they have a good knowledge of how scientific trials will end, but they cannot say so until they run the trial. I also think that they cannot sell the product as a cosmetic until they know they've at least proven it safe in drug trials. Once know to be safe, I believe they'll let the cosmetics be sold with few if any claims of efficacy, but welcome users to report their experience.
I don't believe OWCP will be selling the cream anywhere directly, i.e. other companies will be responsible for sales. I would like to see those companies offer the cream on a money back basis, if you're not satisfied, and likewise offer a discount for reorders where a review of the product was included with the reorder. I don't believe anyone who's not satisfied with the cream would reorder it, but if someone wants a refund, it's clearly not effective for them. Like any drug, it won't be effective for all who try it. I believe the testimonials from those reordering will provide the anecdotal evidence needed to build future sales well before drug trials prove the effectiveness of the product. I believe the same scenario would be true of practically all the other products OWCP has in development, and this would apply with, or without any U.S. sales.
