From the investor perspective, its great to see the Cure Korea updates and commercials but we don't know how CK is actually doing? I too would like to hear how other dealers like Vegas dealer is doing. Although we do get some great information from Ed (thank you Ed), we don't hear too much from other dealers. Until we get some of the dealers saying, "I'm really killing it in my territory" or "I'm hearing my friends in other territories are crushing it," then I feel a little more comfortable as far as the board, Twitter, and Facebook updates go.
Now lets get to Veals 2018 state of the union. Most publicly traded companies will give you information on franchises, sales targets, international penetrations (if applicable), etc... Because we aren't publicly traded, I don't see any reason Hangover Joe's can't give there investors some information that is extremely pertinent and good to know like:
1. U.S. and European Franchise information- A. How many franchises have been bought? B. How many franchises are active C. How many franchises are actively selling and are hitting 80% of their sales goals.? D. Since moving to SMS to franchising their own dealerships, how many franchises have been sold? E. What are the challenges since moving away from SMS? F. What successes have their been (aside from pocketing the franchise fees) with the new franchises?...more specifically, besides the fairs, what are dealers doing more effectively in 2018 than they were doing in 2017? I"m not asking for any proprietary information but if they have had economies of scale in producing the jerky and shots and that is driving costs down for dealers and increasing profit margins, throw us a bone and some specifics.
2. I would love to hear a lot more specifics about what CK is doing in Asia. I want to know how many pallets they are being shipped over there or how many pallets CK will sell in Q1 2018 or some kind of tangible number to hold on too. The CK model in Asia is totally different to what we are doing in the U.S. Which model is working better and why?
3. How is Europe doing? Haven't heard much
4. Heard about a big announcement on the jerky was coming a couple months back but haven't heard them say anything on it?
I guess I'm just trying to say I hope we get some real metrics for Veal's State of the Union as opposed to staying vague. Not expecting them to give away corporate secrets but I please refrain from quotes like:
1. "HJOE"s is a brand on the move" but not giving us any metrics to prove why?
2. "2018 is really going to be the year of HJOE"s and the bashers are going to be sorry" but not giving us a reason how or why that will happen?
3. "A new batch of dealers start training" but not mentioning anything on how the current dealers are doing? It doesn't mean anything if you sign up a 100 dealers and the attrition rate is 95% (I'm sure the success rate is much better but give us a clue). The franchise fees are important to support business but hearing the current dealers like Ed are continuously being armed with new products and strategies to ensure their long term success is very important for investors
