Nice posts to wake up to the day before we give thanks.....but I got a head start.
I just finished participating in helping with items being collected for a group going by "veterans in transition", then our food drive that we host every year at a local sports bar pub (a Sheriff Sgt buddy runs this show...i just bring canned goods as requested , encourage others to donate), now I have my Toys 4 Tots boxes placed this week, so from now thru Christmas Eve I'll be picking up toys and getting them to the collection point, in route to the Marine Reserves Warehouse, in which they distribute the toys. I always end up at the last minute with a trunk full of toys too late for Christmas distribution, so all else is delivered to the fire dept, who passes out the toys throughout the year...example: Traffic accident, Dad had a wreck...not serious..kid in the back unharmed...fire dept give the kid a toy...cool.
My only problem with volunteer work like this after 40 years of doing this stuff, and above is only a sample of yearly efforts, my own limited resources.
I would very much like to beef up my involvement, donations, spend more time recruiting helpers and the like, so maybe USGLOABAL being successful, I can do more next year and years to follow.
