It looks like dog racing is about washed up. I did a lot of gambling on it in the 70's and 80's. Casino's popping up all over did them in as well as the horsemen associations gave big money to the Humane Society and they went after do racing, even though horse racing harms more horses than dog racing does dogs. They claimed retired racing dogs made bad pent and many were "put down". Some may have, but they do make OK pets. It seems almost every year a horse is "put down" right on the track at the breeders Cup annual races. The few tracks left have like 25% rakes on win tickets, back in my day it was 16%.
