What to me is completely unknown is with the approach into the cosmetic/medical marijuana market, could OWCP be permitted to let people with a variety of skin diseases try the cream to gain anecdotal evidence of how well it works in a non-clinical setting before the safety trial is concluded.
It's clear that the company is taking the dual path of selling product in the Green Cross stores while simultaneously putting the products through drug trials. To me, this is rather like the reverse of what happens with many drugs that are now available without prescription, but initially were available only by prescription. Drugs like Omeprazole are still available by prescription, and are dramatically cheaper by prescription if you have the right coverage in your healthcare insurance, but is also available from many companies as a generic of Prilosec, the name brand that initially got the FDA approval. My point is, products may easily co-exist as both prescription drugs, and OTC products.
