Lexaria Bioscience Corp. (CSE: LXX) (OTCQB: LXRP), a biosciences company that has developed delivery technologies to improve absorption of bioactive compounds, this morning announced that it has filed a new patent application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) covering the use of its DehydraTECH™ technology for the delivery of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors. Existing products occupying this space include Viagra™ (sildenafil) and Cialis™ (tadalafil). Per the update, a common complaint regarding existing PDE5 inhibitors relates to the slow-acting nature of the substances.
