First of all, someone owes me a cup of coffee and a new keyboard. The few thousand dollars which took PTOI to that "explosive" increase was noise. PTOI is a feather--if everyone exhales in unison, it could go to $0.15 with negligible dollar volume.
Second of all, all this speculation about someone knows something and those smarter people are bidding up the shares is a red herring. Only CEO Mr. Heddle knows what's going on and he's not talking. He will give investors lip service...but never share why potential customers are turning up their noses at the processor he's supposedly trying to sell.
The only way PTOI can make it is if it gets subsidized by some government. Keep in mind that subsidizing plastic-to-oil would take plastic away from plastic recyclers. If, instead, it's plastic-to-energy that should supposedly be subsidized, then shredded plastic can be mixed in with coal and burned in power plants for higher efficiency and slightly lower sulfur. Converting plastic-to-oil by any method is a dead end economically and there's no valid reason to subsidize it.
