Stephen: "We have also begun to generate modest revenues from the sale of our quantum dot samples to our display industry customers"
He did not say sale of QD to researchers or other innovative entrepreneurs, he specifically said "display industry customers" which implies TV makers. TV makers in the TV display industry do not buy quantum dot directly from QMC, they buy display panel thin films from their potential thin film supplier. If one reads the Update subtly, one should conceive that QMC's film partners are selling film samples to TV makers who like their products and are buying more for evaluation, as Stephen said: "All indications are that these sales volumes will continue to increase". Its a matter of time QMC's film partners will announce major sales contracts with big TV makers, for
QD LED display panel is cheaper, brighter with 100% color gamut, will not degrade in wet/high humidity environment and will last longer.
Quantum Dot TV display panel is the future.
2017 worldwide TV shipment is around 270 million units, QMC's film partners need to capture only 1.5% of the market or 4 million units with one gram of quantum dot used in each unit. But with blue QD LED as back light, each unit could use 2 grams of quantum dots.
QMC's current annual QD production capacity is 4 tonnes (4,000 Kg, 4 million grams), sales at maximum capacity and at humble and conservative variables below, the projected share price will be:
