If I recall. This was the company going for certification that declared a home airfield that had airstrips too small to be approved for the size of the aircraft they were intending to fly. So the airfield was not rated go the plane... also if I recall. The CEO was very public about when they would fly and also publicly pressured the FAA to perform their role... like certification was a formality.

But that was years ago. Hey I could be wrong.

On another note - Anyone want to comment on the observation that songbirds base is Lakeland Florida. Was it something else previously?
