I certainly believe you're right about news before

It's my belief that all along they could have updated the clinical trials database, but they've made the choice not to do so using the fact that the trial is being run in Israel.
I believe if they had updated the trial it would have become a Phase 1/2 where the Phase 1 would have been pure safety on healthy patients, and the Phase 2 would have been efficacy on patients with a variety of skin diseases.
We have all seen posters say this is essentially what they heard from people with ties to the company, but that doesn't make it official. Had they updated the clinical trials site, it would have become official, even if they issued nothing else.
The real problem with understanding the trial is knowing it's size. Originally the trial was to be done with 20 healthy patients. We don't know if the expansion of the trial was for 5 patients each with 3 different skin diseases, or 25 patients each for perhaps 5 different skin diseases. The smaller figures are certainly low enough that recruitment could have been concluded in a couple months, and the trial nearly concluded. The larger numbers could easily suggest the trial is still recruiting, and could be for at least a few more months, and then they observe each patient for 60 days, so the trial won't be unblinded until 60 days after the last patient is enrolled in the trial.
If the company were willing to give us some big, and very important news, all they'd need to do is clarify what's being done in the expansion of the trial. It's the total lack of information that keeps the stock price down, they don't need to tell us all that's happening, but a little guidance that's official about what they're doing would provide a lot of support for the stock price.
