CAMBRIDGE, Ontario, Nov. 06, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Faisal Susiwala, one of Canada’s top 10 real estate brokers, who has also earned a top 1% worldwide rating with RE/MAX for his 29-year and counting real estate career, announced this week he will be donating $130,000 to Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Since Cambridge has a population of 130,000, Susiwala is donating $1.00 on behalf of every resident that comprises this incredible and supportive community.

“Sometimes, it’s hard to realize that if everyone stepped up and donated a fraction of their income, together, we can make a huge difference,” said Susiwala. “Cambridge Memorial Hospital is looking for donations as the institution works towards redeveloping and expanding to accommodate our growing community. I’m honoured to be part of that.”

The construction will comprise of a new wing and complete renovation of the existing patient care wing, which will provide the necessary space for the hospital to bring new and expanded clinical services to the community. The hospital foundation has a fundraising goal of $50M from the community. This represents 10% of the project’s capital cost and 100% of the patient equipment costs. Almost $41M has been raised to date.

Susiwala will present a cheque at the hospital foundation’s annual Trees of Caring Launch. The public launch event for this long standing tradition is being held on Thursday November 16 ^th at 10 am at Chartwell Queens Square Retirement Residence at 10 Melville St. N. in Cambridge . Susiwala’s generosity allows us to light the Gold Star for this years’ Trees of Caring campaign. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend.
