Maybe I don't understand the definition of a long

Maybe I don't understand the definition of a long term investor. I thought it was someone who purchased shares and held them over one year. I've been here about three years now. I have said many positive things, I didn't sell on the fall back to two cents and I've offered critical analysis. Tell me what's wrong here...
