Army Seeks 1100 Tons of Road Sanding Material

Yakima, Washington, Oct. 23, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Department of the Army released on Monday, October 23, a combined synopsis/solicitation in which it outlined plans to procure 1,100 tons of road sanding material from a certified small business contractor.

The 1,100 tons of road sanding material must be made up of 1/10 th -inch crushed aggregate. Since terminology and individual supplier standards can vary, the Army will require the contractor who receive the contract to deliver one load prior to crushing the entire order, to make sure it is of the proper size and material to meet the Army’s needs.

The Army, in its combined synopsis/solicitation, committed to inspecting the load within four hours of delivery, to determine that it is acceptable and meets contract specifications.

The contractor who receives the contract must deliver the 1,100 tons of road sanding material within 30 days of receiving the contract. The road sanding material must be delivered to 970 Firing Center Road in Yakima, Washington.

According to the combined synopsis/solicitation, the Army, at this location, can accommodate no more than two truck combinations per hour, with room for a side dump or dump truck/trailer combination.

The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 212321 with a small business size standard of 5,000 employees.

Interested and capable contractors must respond via www.FedBid.com by no later than 4 p.m. EST on October 27.

Businesses interested in bidding on and receiving contracts from the government must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database and have as part of the Registration all current Representations and Certifications.
