The 'saucer' that is the Senate just needs to be wider and deeper to 'cool' the molten bat-shit that spills over because of gerrymandered Congressional districts.
Libruls would like to rid of us of the defects of that. Conservatives, not so much.

I think your depiction of an "entrenched ruling class and its' pr department (media) that demonizes anything that removes control from it's grasp..." is more conservative mumbo jumbo, boogeyman, man behind the curtain paranoia.
