SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., Oct. 17, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- NGINX, Inc. , the engine delivering sites and applications for the modern web, today announced an expanded executive team and international presence, with the addition of new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Rob Whiteley, and new office in Singapore, led by Norbert Kiss as Head of Asia Pacific (APAC).
NGINX adds to its already popular core offering with the recent launch of NGINX’s Application Platform, a complete product suite for organizations modernizing legacy applications and delivering new digital services with clouds, containers, and microservices.
“NGINX has continued to hit a number of new milestones this year, including powering more than half of the world’s busiest websites and launching a complete end-to-end application platform,” said Gus Robertson, CEO of NGINX, Inc. “We are excited to welcome Rob and Norbert to the NGINX team. Rob is a brilliant marketer, who will play an instrumental role in expanding NGINX’s brand and user base globally. As for APAC, we have been waiting for the right leadership to emerge to solidify our footprint. Norbert’s extensive APAC experience and relationships will accelerate our growth even further.”
Based in NGINX’s San Francisco office, Whiteley has previously served in notable senior marketing roles as VP of Marketing at software-defined storage vendor Hedvig and General Manager overseeing product marketing, product management, and engineering for storage delivery products at Riverbed Technology.
“I’m excited to join this extremely fast growing company to help expand the community of users that has made NGINX the de facto standard in application development and deployment today,” said Whiteley. “Developers and architects everywhere love NGINX, and the brand is a powerful example of how high-growth, open source solutions are changing the market. I look forward to working with my new colleagues around the world as well as NGINX’s loyal user base and customers.”
Whiteley also spent 10 years at Forrester Research, working as an analyst, and managing analyst teams covering topics ranging from data center modernization, cloud computing, IT service automation, IT infrastructure security, and much more. His expertise in application architecture, cloud, and digital transformation will position NGINX for continued rapid growth.
With established customers in the Asia Pacific region, NGINX hired Kiss to deepen its business with initial focus on Australia, South East Asia, and Japan. With Kiss being located in Singapore, NGINX will establish its third regional headquarters in Singapore to service the Asia Pacific markets. “Joining an established, respected company such as NGINX was a very easy decision,” said Kiss. “NGINX already has significant visibility in the region with its brand and products. I’m thrilled to be part of an unparalleled team matched with impressive technology.”
Kiss has been successfully leading US and European companies through expansions into the Asia Pacific region for more than 20 years. He has held executive roles in companies such as Oracle, Watchguard, Sophos and most recently KEMP Technologies, expanding their presence in the region with special emphasis in driving revenue growth, geographic expansion, organic growth and strategic partnerships.
