Please try and plug any of those 'real unemployment' numbers into the 'real world and show me the Hoovervilles/Obamavilles we didn't see, a stock market that never recovered, an auto industry that didn't collapse and major banks that didn't collapse.
No amount of unemployment benefits/SNAP benefits would have stimulated enough demand for goods and services, as opposed to absolute necessities, to give us any kind of recovery worthy of the name.
