Army Seeks Contractor to Bid on Construction Project

Fort Hood, Texas, Oct. 16, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Department of the Army, Army Contracting Command, MICC – Fort Hood, released a solicitation on Monday, October 16 inviting qualified and interested contractors to bid on a construction project.

The project, which calls for the conversion of more than 6,400 square feet of existing space on the first and second floors of Building 36000 at the Fort Hood Military Installation, is set aside for small business contractors who are certified by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as a HUBZone business.

The relevant NAICS Code is 236220, with a size standard of $36.5 million. The magnitude of the procurement, according to the Army in this solicitation, is estimated at between $500,000 and $1 million.

The contractor who receives the contract must provide all plant, supervision, labor, materials, equipment, supplies, and transportation necessary to complete the project; all work must comply with applicable state, local, and federal laws and regulations, industry and construction codes and standards, manufacturer's specifications, and recommendations, and with all contract special provisions, terms and conditions; and the bid guarantee in the amount must be at least 20 percent of the bid price or $120,000.00, whichever is less.

Also according to the solicitation, performance and payment bonds must equal 100 percent of the original contract price.

The Army expects the contractor who receives the contract to complete the project within 180 days of receiving a notice to proceed.

Responses are due by no later than October 17 at 1 p.m. CST, and must be e-mailed to Contract Specialist David Hester at david.l.hester6.civ@mail.mil.

Businesses interested in bidding on and receiving contracts from the government must be registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) database and have as part of the Registration all current Representations and Certifications.
