I agree...despite all the grandiose claims about how great this will all be for society, it appears to be shaping-up to be more corrupt than that & all about snooping-in on & ultimately controlling our everyday lives down to the minutest detail....with all of which subject to being hacked. The epic sci-fi totalitarian-surveillance scenario envisioned in George Orwells' '1984' novel doesn't even comes close to what we are subject to already, let alone in the IoT future. I for one, take no comfort in having my toaster listening to me, my refrigerator monitoring what I eat, my computer watching me or being subject to sharing the road with driverless cars & big-rigs or having cars flying over our heads in the big traffic jam in the sky...& I don't recall the public even being asked if any of this is o.k. with us. Personally, except where there are clear benefits with no strings attached, I don't buy into any of this crap & will resist as much of it as possible
