Flexpoint Sensor Systems (FLXT)
Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (FLXT) is an innovative technology firm specializing in developing products that feature the Company's patented Bend Sensor® and related technology. The Bend Sensor® is a groundbreaking sensing solution that is revolutionizing applications in the automotive, safety, medical and industrial industries. The Bend Sensor® single-layer, thin film construction cuts costs and mechanical bulk while introducing a range of functions and stylistic design possibilities that have never before been available in sensing technology. Flexpoint's technology and expertise have been recognized by the world's elite business and academic innovators for over 17 years. The company is setting a new standard for sensing solutions in the "smart" age of technology.
Future Applications
The sensor market is a rapidly growing multi-billion dollar industry encompassing all mechanical control situations from simple voice response mechanisms in dolls, to sophisticated robotics, to drug delivery systems and complex safety equipment.
Within this enormous market, the Bend Sensor has a broad range of potential applications in an array of industries. The Bend Sensor offers a versatile, nexium buy online australia robust variable resistance sensing technology capable of measuring changes in weight, pressure, distance, speed, patterns, etc.
Flexpoint intends to target those applications that management feels have the greatest revenue-generating possibilities, including those in the medical, industrial controls and consumer products sectors, as well as continuing innovative product development and further penetration of the automotive industry.
The Bend Sensor® product consists of a coated substrate, such as plastic, that changes in electrical conductivity as it is bent. Electronic systems connect to the sensor and measure with fine detail the amount of bending or movement that occurs. The single layer design of the Bend Sensor® eliminates many of the problems associated with conventional sensors such as dust, dirt, liquids, and heat and pressure affects. Over-laminates or over-molding may also be applied to the sensors for added environmental protection. Flexpoint Sensor Systems offers standard designs, and can also custom design and engineer a sensor that meets the dimensions and requirements of your application.

European Pedestrian Safety Regulations Create Demand for New Technology
Each year as many as 9,000 pedestrians and cyclists are killed; an average of 25 deaths per day, and a further 200,000 people are injured in the European Union countries alone, accounting for 20% percent of all traffic fatalities. A significant proportion of casualties are the result of contact with a moving vehicle; notably with the frontal structures of passenger cars.
In an effort to combat this growing tragedy, The European Council and Parliament have now adopted new standards mandating all new vehicle models to pass a number of pedestrian safety tests. In a first phase, starting in 2005, new types of vehicles must comply with two tests concerning protection against head injuries and leg injuries. In a second phase, starting in 2010, four tests of increased severity, based on the recommendations of the European Enhanced Vehicle Committee (EEVC), will be required for new types of vehicles, two tests concerning head injuries and two concerning leg injuries.
In response, Flexpoint Engineers have designed and created a Pedestrian Impact Detection System (PIDS) that is capable of detecting impact within milliseconds and able to distinguish between a human leg and inanimate objects. The system integrates a series of Bend Sensors® along the front bumper and, upon contact, triggers a safety response in accordance with the auto makers’ standards. This could include raising the hood to prevent the head from hitting the engine block, or deploying an external airbag. The system has been tested by several Tier One auto suppliers and European auto manufacturers.

Consumer Toys
The Bend Sensor® was launched in 1998 in several lines of interactive plush toys. The Bull Frogg™ by Ohio Art, Puppy So Real from Irwin Toys, and Bash N’ Brawlers from Toy Biz all incorporated Bend Sensor® as a nervous system capable of generating a variety of responses to varying degrees of pressure or bending. These toys hit the market in time for Christmas 1998 and were well received.
In 1998, Flexpoint produced over 7,000,000 Bend Sensors® for incorporation into several lines of interactive plush toys.
New applications in the toy and games industries have been researched since and now include buy nexium tablets online Virtual Reality (VR) games including extensive adoption by glove-based (wearable) game manufacturers.
Bend Sensor® technology has many potential applications in the consumer products sector. A key marketing strategy is to pursue product applications that emphasize functionality, high degrees of sensitivity, reliability, quality, and user convenience. Such products might include computer peripherals (mouse, keyboard, input devices, laptop controls, tablets etc.), communications equipment (smart phones, cellular phones), small and large appliances (high-temperature switches, safety controls, on/off switches, balance controls), as well as health and fitness equipment and sporting goods including wearables such as Mettis Trainer®.
Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. Receives Multiple Purchase Orders Increasing in Size and Volume from VR/AR Partner Manus VR
The Bend Sensor® remains key element for revolutionary VR platform produced by Manus VR
DRAPER, Utah, Oct. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (FLXT) is pleased to announce it has recently received follow-on production orders from global market virtual reality leader, Manus VR. "Manus VR is achieving remarkable success in the virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR) market as a whole, and seeing significant traction in the B2B segments. Manus continues to submit purchase orders with us which have increased in size and frequency over time," commented Paul Sexauer, Flexpoint's Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
In 2016, Manus VR successfully brought to market the industry's first fully functional, virtual reality glove. A tremendously feature-rich offering, the glove integrates a number of technologies into a unique and truly inspired design. Manus' overall vision is to supply the industry's finest components that integrate with various VR hardware platforms offered by such notable companies as HTC, Vicon, Xsan and others.
As previously announced, The Manus VR glove offers a revolutionary new VR experience. It allows for a truly immersive VR experience by tracking hands in real-time. The Manus VR Gloves bring solutions for training simulations, VR arcades, robotics, medical purposes and motion capture.
