CLEVELAND, October 11, 2017 - The Lubrizol Corporation announces its Engineered Polymers business will be participating alongside its distributor VELOX GMBH at Booth #B5-5001 at Fakuma 2017, which is being held October 17-21, 2017 in Friederichshafen, Germany.
Lubrizol will highlight its latest developments in Estane ® TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) solutions for compounds, BounCell-X TM TPU microcellular foam, Estane TPU for robotic cables and high-traction Estane TRX TPU polymer technologies:
- BounCell-X TPU microcellular foam is made with a proprietary physical foam injection moulding technology and generates a highly uniform cell structure that provides more than an 80% reduction in density when compared to conventionally moulded TPU. Additionally, BounCell-X technology, utilizing nitrogen gas as a blowing agent, contains no extra chemical additives, making it a good fit for brands with sustainability goals and post-consumer recycling** programs.
- Low smoke, zero halogen flame retardant TPU are designed for wire and cable applications to meet robotics and industry 4.0 requirements such as a superior flexibility and durability. Estane TPU grades offer high-performing solutions for the tension and mechanical stress that cables must endure in the robotics industry, and can help make wire and cable jacketing thinner.
- The Estane TPU portfolio includes many grades that can be used as additives for heavy-duty applications to obtain very tough compounds. They also act as modifiers to other polymers in order to improve the original properties or to overcome regulatory restrictions, for e.g. replacing plasticizers in PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or other materials.
- Estane TRX TPU high traction TPU for footwear outsoles allows designers to create outsoles with increased wear and abrasion resistance, enhanced wet traction, and the flexibility to utilize a wide colour range (even ultra clear) all while using a company's own injection moulding machines. Soft grades are available.
Fabio Morelli, EMEA distribution manager for Lubrizol Engineered Polymers, said, "When it comes to industrial and sports and recreation markets, the list of applications for our engineered polymer solutions is nearly endless. Our high-performing materials can provide the strength of metal or rubber coupled with softness, environmental-friendliness and durability. Lubrizol offers long-lasting solutions that go beyond a standard elastomeric performance."
