Speaking as a Chicago sports fan, if they were televising the Hawks, Cubs and the Bears at the same time, they weren't, Cubs and Hawks get the one click 'last', back and forth, on my remote.
Here's the sequence: MLB playoffs, more competitive hockey team, Bearssss. And if the Bulls get off to a good start or are more entertaining, they'll get the 'peek' over Da Bearsss.
Ditka's a blockhead.

While the game was close, the Bears and Vikings do not typically draw the ratings that the New York teams and other national-interest teams like the New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers do. The game also had to compete with the MLB playoffs matchup between the Cleveland Indians and New York Yankees.
None of THAT entered into your 'calculus', did it?
Seriously, get yourself an algorithm, or SIRI, or Alexis, that simply answers the question...'WTF else is going on here?'
