Good Morning. BioPharm Update:
Columbus Day saw a relatively light trading day bereft of significant biotech news flow, hence the lack of updates below. Expect this to change, however, as we make our way through what promises to be another week of key biotech events as highlighted in the BioPharmCatalyst watch list.
Onconova Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:ONTX) shares surged to close up 30% to $2.28. Analysts at H.C.Wainwright initiated coverage with a Buy rating and a $6 price target. Interim analysis from its Phase 3 INSPIRE trial of IV Rigosertib for the treatment of 2nd-line HR-MDS (high risk myelodysplastic syndromes) is due this quarter.
Amgen (NASDAQ:AMGN) announced that the FDA has set a PDUFA date of May 28, 2018 for the supplemental Biologics License Application (sBLA) for Prolia (denosumab) for the treatment of patients with glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP).
22nd Century Group, Inc. (NYSE American: XXII) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with institutional investors to receive approximately $54m in gross proceeds in a registered direct offering through the sale of 20.57m shares of common stock at a price of $2.625 per share. Shares closed down 12% to $2.99.
