I question just what is meant by Brilacidin having been termed a "franchise drug" or "platform drug". Works also for Kevetrin and Prurisol as Kevetrin has been stated to possibly be able to work on 50% of cancers in combo form and Prurisol could work on a host of dermatology related indications.

I took franchise drug to mean that it will work in many indications against many varied types of medical conditions. I also thought it meant IPIX would allot the drug to various BP's on an indication by indication basis.

Now I hear IPIX may give the whole platform for a specific drug to one BP so does franchise simply mean we get an upfront payment for the whole platform, milestone additional payments, and royalties on all sales in future years from one or possibly a host of BP's? I can't see the onetime upfront payment but more likely an upfront payment for each indication and additional funds as that indication hits certain milestones as completing a successful PH2, then PH3, and finally FDA approval and such payments would be based on the value of the expected revenues for each indication.

Giving the whole drug platform to one BP makes a lot of sense to me but there will have to be many stipulations as to future payments and milestones as IPIX could be giving away ungodly amounts of money should any of the drugs be found to work in other indications not currently envisioned and the BP certainly doesn't want to be on the hook for a big wad of payments for indications that turn negative.

This means that a partnership may take much longer than many of us were expecting should one BP get the entire drug platform.

Also makes one question which drug do you sell off to further other 2 drugs ongoing and additional trials so their value increases greatly prior to selling them entirely to one BP?
