Post# of 301275
CLEVELAND, October 6, 2017 - The Lubrizol Corporation's Engineered Polymers business will be featuring its latest non-yellowing thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) materials at Fakuma at its distributor Danquinsa GmbH's - booth # B4-4507- in Friedrichshafen, Germany from 17 to 21 October 2017.
Lubrizol will showcase new technologies that enable customers to meet the latest market trends in aesthetics and design, and integrate new technical benefits in their products by using high-performing polymers. Lubrizol Engineered Polymers' R&D experts have worked extensively on expanding their distinctive aliphatic TPU technology portfolio with even more non-yellowing polymers that provide improved weatherability and UV resistance as compared to other elastomeric materials. Pearlthane (TM) aliphatic TPU materials offer added value performance including excellent haptics for very high demanding moulded applications in sports and recreation, consumer and industrial markets.
Colour stable Pearlcoat (TM) Activa D198K TPU, a soft low-gloss material, can be applied in white and light-coloured parts as a thermoformed and co-extruded solution.
Other segments where our non-yellowing material can be found include profile extrusion and hot melt adhesives. The latest development, Pearlbond (TM) 960 EXP, is an aliphatic TPU that brings a unique combination of features including softness (69 shore A), durability (UV stable and resistant to fungi and microorganisms) and a very high bonding strength to various substrates. Pearlbond 960 EXP is even suitable for bonding delicate fabrics such as silk, linen and cotton.
Pablo Alegre, new business development manager EMEAI, Engineered Polymers, states, "Thanks to our technical expertise and careful attention to customer needs, we have been able to provide solutions not only from a mechanical point of view, but also in aesthetics and haptics. This creates valuable differentiation in our portfolio and enables our customers to deliver innovations and meet the evolving demands of their OEMs and final customers".
