QDSC have a top, center, and bottom. With R2R, the top and bottom rolls are joined or melded together as the last step. It would be less flexible and could be rigid either by the thickness or addition of some sort of spine. I can imagine them able to lay flat and stack for storage.
I also imagine the QDSC become obsolete 2 ways, with neither having to do with the cells actual estimated lifetime guarantee. They would be replaced far sooner due to -
1. the increase in QD efficiency necessitating upgrades for economic or competitive reasons and/or
2. QDSC become almost a commodity and the decreasing cost of new QDSC becomes so low that payback is quite fast with a low initial payment. .
